Just a little backround on my giving history. I started giving quilts and quilt related things when I joined a quilt guild 20 years ago. I was a new quilter and I remember telling the Charity Chairperson that I wasn't good enough to participate in the project. Her answer keeps me focused on the goal still today. She told me that if a person was in need of the love, support, caring thoughts behind a quilt, they really didn't care if the points were perfect.
Since then I have given whenever possible. Blogging has expanded my scope and has enabled me to help in tiny bits all over the country. A block here a top there. I use my stash and scraps from friends.
This top is going to go to Julie at http://havingfunquilting.blogspot.com/ she is getting together quilts for the forest fire victims under the heading Operation Wood Hollow. This is an area near where she lives in Utah.
This top was made with scraps from a fiend ( should read friend but this may be more appropriate)who dropped a kitchen trash bag full oh her scrap pieces on my porch.
These blocks will be going to Margaret's Hope Chest. Link on SideBar.
So if you are unsure if you're work is good enough and that is stopping you from participating, let me be the one to tell you that you are plenty good enough and each piece you do will make you a better quilter and make you feel so good inside.
Some times I feel my quilts are not good enough but that doesn't stop me from giving. I try to give every chance I get. I believe some one really needs my Quilty hugs. I too am sending Julie a quilt.
